NAMI-NYS
has more than 50 affiliates statewide. The majority of
these affiliates are made up of family members and friends
of people with mental illness, however that dynamic is
changing as consumers are getting more involved.
Our
affiliates provide support groups, advocate for specific
issues and educate the public to reduce stigma and its
damaging effects on people with mental illness. If you
are interested in starting your own affiliate or if you
want more information about affiliates in your community,
