NAMI-NYS Attends Roundtable on the Federal BRAIN Initiative

On Tuesday, August 18th, Congressman Paul Tonko (20th District) held a roundtable on the BRAIN Initiative (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies).

The BRAIN Initiative is a White House project focused on revolutionizing our understanding of the human brain. It aims to help researchers uncover the mysteries of brain disorders, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, depression, and traumatic brain injury (TBI). In order to develop effective ways of helping people suffering from these devastating conditions, researchers will first need a more complete arsenal of tools and information for understanding how the brain functions both in health and disease.
